GRASS IS GREEN can announce the transfer of Julian von Haacke from SV Werder Bremen to NEC Nijmegen. Julian signed a 3-year contract for the Dutch Eredivisie Club today. The 22-year old German midfielder was born in Bremen and developed in the Werder Bremen Academy before signing his first professional contract for the German Bundesliga club in 2014. Julian appeared in 29 Games (4 Goals, 5 Assists) for Werder's reserve team in Germany's Third Division last season. The former German Youth International is a central midfielder with great vision, a strong passing game and good skills on the ball. He is looking forward to work under fellow countryman Peter Hyballa, the new headcoach in Nijmegen. We're happy for Julian and wish him all the best to succeed in the Netherlands.
Our Austrian U21 Internationals Dominik Baumgartner & Roman Kerschbaum will continue to play for the same club next season. The central defender Baumgartner and midfielder Kerschbaum both played for SV Grödig last season and now signed a 2-year contract (plus option for another year) for FC Wacker Innsbruck. Christoph Rabitsch has agreed to a two-year contract extension at his club Wolfsberger AC. The 20-year old central midfielder celebrated his Bundesliga debut in September 2015 against Red Bull Salzburg and made seventeen appearances so far. What a fairytale! Christian Fuchs has won the Premier League with his club Leicester City! It is Christian's biggest success of his career and he is only the second Austrian player ever to call himself Champion of England. Christian made 30 appearances this season for Leicester and delivered four important assists in the greatest season that Leicester City has ever played. Our GRASS IS GREEN team had our fingers crossed during Monday's game between Tottenham and Chelsea. It's an unbelievable story and one of the biggest upsets in modern football history.
